Montessori in July - Adventures in Nature!

Summer program for Pre-K Kids

This four-week program will be taught by our AMS certified Montessori Pre-school teachers and their assistants in a traditional (Montessori) yet informal indoor/outdoor setting. The cost is $125/week.

Our program is designed specifically for the young child (3 to 6 years), with the goal being to capture your child's imagination, and encourage his/her love of learning!

Each week's theme will include special projects, music and singing, as well as arts and crafts. The animals (sheep, goats, chickens, and ducks) from Stoney Ridge Farm will also be regular visitors!

"To Be an Artist in Monet's Garden"
Kindergarten Camp - July 12th – 16th

Deadline for enrollment is Friday, June 4, 2010.

This camp is open to all children ages 3 to 6 years, who are toilet trained. Your child does not need to be a student at Avon Montessori, or have any Montessori or other preschool experience. Sibling discount available.

"To Be a Frog in Monet's Garden"
Leap into the world of Monet's garden. Children will learn about the life cycle of a frog through hands on experience with tadpoles and frogs in our outdoor classroom. They will have the opportunity to care for, cut, arrange and paint flowers in our garden as Monet once did. Indoors, the class will focus on the artist Monet, his paintings and his home country of France in a traditional Montessori setting.

"To Be an Artist in Monet's Garden"
Children will become artists as they explore the techniques used by artists such as Monet, Degas, Seurat and Morisot. They will experience textures and colors in our garden and express their discoveries in various media. The children will participate in an in-depth study of the frog, its life cycle and habitat. Indoors, the class will focus on the language, geography, inventors and culture of France in a traditional Montessori classroom.

We strongly encourage all entering kindergarten students attend this camp. It will give them an opportunity to bond with their teacher and fellow students who will be traveling with them through their kindergarten year. They will also be spending time learning with our graduating students as well!
