Preschool and Kindergarten Programs

Preschool / Half-Day Kindergarten:
Monday through Friday
Morning - 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    or
Afternoon - 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Preschool ages 3-5
Avon Montessori School enrollment is open to children from three to five years of age. Enrollment shall be granted without regard to child's race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, or disability; and without regard to a parent or guardian's race, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, gender, pregnancy or disability.

Children must be 3 years of age by September 30th and potty trained in order to enroll
Kindergarten - For children who will be 5 years of age by August 1.

Kindergarten ages 5-6
Avon Montessori School meets all the State of Ohio kindergarten curriculum requirements. Your child will complete his/her kindergarten year in our regular 3 hour program (a.m or p.m.), and be eligible for first grade the following year.

Kindergarten is a little different than the prior preschool years. Kindergartners are still integrated in the classroom, but more specific work is expected from this age group to prepare them for Elementary. Each child will have a work plan for the day. Specific assignments from all areas of the classroom will be planned for each child based on their needs and experience. Children will still have ample time for free exploration, but will be encouraged to develop time management skills.
